hmmm, i'd have left off the chainmail so you can see the pauldrons better, pauldrons are always sooo cool, but i'm not sure he'd be able to move with that breechguard encasing his waist and hips like that

Stellar! I particularly love the way you rendered the slashes on his hosen - not sure why, but they look fantastic. And the mended tear on his right leg... excellent details! Is there any way I could convince you to paint Landsknechten more often? Seriously.

This renember me of a medieval drawing from Urs Graf about 1519. you see a marching Landsknecht, his Greatsword is shouldered
and the blade is inscribed with the words:
"Hab all mein Geld verspielt" - "I have dallying all my Money."

Genau!
Ich war von den Arbeiten des schweizerischen Malers jener Uhrzeit Urs Graf begeistert. Er war nicht nur dem Maler sondern auch dem schweizerischen Soldner. Deswegen verhielt er sich nicht sehr gut zu Landsknechte, er hat von ihrer dieser Karikatur verspottet.

Ich wollte im Gegenteil machen, Landsknechte verherrlichen.
Ich habe erfolgreiche Landsknecht gezeichnet. :)

Ja, die Landsknechtzeit war die erste in der Probaganda und beleidigungen aller Art zu Papier gebracht wurden, Guttenberg sei dank.

Und genau das macht die Zeit der Renaissance so interesant.

"Landsknecht Hurra, für Sold und Vaterland!!!"

Und so zogen sie aus, um Europa zu formen,
aus Asche und Blut.
